Mary Ann (Partilla) Dankos

Mary Ann Dankos, 88, of Hanover Township passed away peacefully at the Edenbrook at Hampton House Nursing Facility, Hanover Twp., Friday, March 1, 2025.

Born in Ashley, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Margaret Yenchak Partilla.

Mary Ann attended Ashley High School, married her high school sweetheart, Jerome Dankos, and moved to Maryland where they raised their family.

She devoted her life to her husband and raising her children, which brought her great joy.

After Mary Ann's husband retired, they moved from Hyattsville, Maryland to Hanover Township.

She was a woman of faith,  which carried her through the ups and downs of life. She was a member of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross Church in Buttonwood, Hanover Twp.

To know Mary Ann was to love her. Like so many others in life, she had her share of hardships and in 2021 during one of those difficult times, God had a plan and sent her, Sharon, a relative, to be by her side; what a blessing for both.  They were able to spend time sharing family photos,  flipping through the pages of old Ashiey School Yearbooks,  laughing about the numerous picnics in the backyard and swimming at Harvey's Lake.

Recently her son, Brian, spent time visiting his mother and to see her delight of having him home again was evident of the strong bond of love between a mother and her son.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome in 2021; sons Jerry and Kyle; brothers Stephen (Ronnie) and Robert (Bobby) Partilla.

She is survived by a son, Brian Dankos and wife, Barbara, Vero Beach, Florida; sisters, Barbara Partilla Evans, Stroudsburg; Jeanie Partilla Sokoloski, Maryland; grandchildren,  nieces and nephews.

To the nurses, therapists, and staff at the nursing facility, thank you for your care, compassion, and comfort given to Mary Ann. It was deeply appreciated.

As per her request, funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family from the Daniel J. Hughes Funeral & Cremation Service, Wilkes-Barre.
